Anak gadis kita sudah maju kedepan

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- One in three female secondary school students in Malaysia who responded to a study done by the University of Malaya a decade ago admitted they were sexually active.
Dr. Chiam Heng Keng, child psychology researcher, told local media on Saturday that given the trend of a decade ago, she would not be surprised if primary school children do the same thing in years to come.
Dr. Chiam was speaking at the Sarawak Women's Bureau seminar on "Training Our Children on Personal Safety" in the state of Sarawak on Saturday.
At the time the study on the habits of girls between 12 and 18, Dr. Chiam, who is now a Human Rights Commission of Malaysia commissioner, was a professor of Social Psychology at the University of Malaya.
Dr. Chiam said while some respondents found pleasure in having sex, most of them prostituted themselves for money to buy expensive goods.
She also said that some girls might feel cool because they found their friends doing the same thing, thinking that it must be something right to do.
Parents must be alert when their children brought friends of the opposite sex "to study" at home while preventing them from using the bedroom to do their work was the best option, advised Dr. Chiam.
